Our WES courses continue to be popular.  Nearly 200 people have completed courses since late last year.  We're offering six courses this summer.

A list of available courses and an outline of each course can be found by clicking here for  Microsoft Word format or here for Adobe PDF format.  The last page of the document includes a registration form.  You may also pick up a copy of the registration form in person from the Information Desk at the Chilliwack Library.

With the generous project funding provided by HRSDC, these courses are still free.  A number of Chilliwack businesses are offering their workplace as a training location.  Thanks to Community Futures-South Fraser, Envision Financial, Downtown Chilliwack BIA, IMW, Stream Global Services and Sto:lo Nation for the use of their meeting rooms.

Upcoming courses being planned for the 4th quarter include: Budgeting and Credit Essentials, Dealing with Conflict, Computer Graphic Design for Small Business, Listening for Success, Microsoft Office 2007, Numeracy and Problem Solving, Reading and Document Use, Presentation Skills, Service Plus, WorldHost Fundamentals, WorldHost: Solving Problems through Service, and Writing for the Workplace.  More details to follow.

Contact Michael Berger at 604-792-0025 x2434 if you have any questions or to register.

Our first course has completed.  A Microsoft Office 2003 course was held on Tuesday evenings at Stream Global Services.  Thanks to Stream for volunteering to host these classes.  Students' comments included:

"I really enjoyed the course, there was a lot of really good information."

"I would like to express (my) gratitude for being included in the computer course.  What was great...was it took away the overwhelm and gave us a way to learn both during the course and after.  Confidence grew week by week and also a sense of adventure to the possibilities.  It has definitely opened doors to continued learning and growing."

"The instructor was extremely patient.  She made it easy to understand.  Thank you for this oppotunity."
