Information about free courses for Chilliwack area employers and employees
We're planning a host of courses that address the essential skills of Oral Communications, Working with Others, and Thinking Skills. Courses cover topics such as Conflict Resolution, Dealing with Difficult People, Listening Skills, Presentation Skills, Problem Solving and general Oral Communications topics.Click here to download a list of available courses (in Microsoft Word format) along with course details such as course outlines or learning objectives. Click here if you would like the document in an Adobe PDF format. The last page of the document includes a registration form. If you are unable to access the form with your computer, the Information Desk of the Chilliwack Library has paper registration forms available.
With the generous project funding from HRSDC, these courses are free. A number of Chilliwack businesses are offering their workplace as a training location.
Upcoming courses being planned for the second quarter of 2010 include: Microsoft Office 2007, Writing in the Workplace, and Reading & Document Use. More details to follow.

The City Wide Literacy Challenge is on!
- From February 1 to February 21, read for 20 minutes per day.
- Keep track of the days you read on the ballot.
- Deposit your ballot at one of the drop off locations indicated on the ballot by February 26.
- On March 1, the mayor will draw for prize winners from all ballots that were dropped off.
