In teams of seven, kids read and become familiar with a set of six selected books. At the first challenge level, teams within a school compete with each other answering questions on characters, plots and settings. The winning team at each school goes on to the Grand Challenge level at the public library. The winners of the Grand Challenge move on to the Global Videoconference Challenge level, where they compete against winners from the Seattle, Washington region for the International Reading Plaque.
